What level Reformer class should I book?
We understand that stepping into the world of Reformer Pilates can feel a little overwhelming at first. With classes called Fundamentals, Reformer 1, 2, and 3, you might be wondering where to start and which level is the right fit for you. The good news is that we’ve designed our class levels to guide you gently and confidently through your Pilates journey.
If you’re brand new to the reformer, Fundamentals is the perfect place to begin. Think of it as your introduction to the equipment, the movements, and the principles of Pilates. We take time to explain the set-up, show you how the Reformers work, and help you feel comfortable with the basics. It’s the ideal way to build a strong foundation so you feel confident moving forward.
Once you’ve got the essentials under your belt, you’ll be ready for Reformer 1, our beginner-friendly class. Here, we start to layer in more variety and flow while still keeping things accessible. You’ll build strength, improve alignment, and begin to connect the dots between movements without ever feeling rushed.
As your practice develops, Reformer 2 is where things start to build. This intermediate level adds more challenge, with exercises that ask for greater coordination, stamina, and control. It’s perfect for when you’re ready to push yourself a little more while still having the supportive guidance of your instructor.
Finally, Reformer 3 is our advanced class. This is for clients who are confident on the Reformer and are ready for complex sequences, faster transitions, and a higher level of strength and precision. It’s dynamic, energising, and wonderfully rewarding if you’ve worked your way up to this stage.
Wherever you begin, remember that Pilates is a journey, not a destination. At Luma Pilates, our wonderful instructor team are here to help you choose the right level, and we’ll always encourage you to listen to your body and move at your own pace. Whether you’re starting fresh with Fundamentals or refining your practice in Reformer 3, you’ll find a class that supports your growth and keeps you moving with confidence.
So, if you’re unsure, start with Fundamentals or Reformer 1 and let the practice guide you. We’ll be right there with you every step of the way.
