Founded by Lucia Poulter and Max Howarth, Luma Pilates is dedicated to crafting a nurturing and inclusive space where individuals of all backgrounds and fitness levels can thrive.
Lucia has spent 25 years working as both a fully certified advanced Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Pilates instructor and an internationally certified Ashtanga yoga teacher in various countries around the world. And after embracing Pilates to the point of near-obsession for the past 3 years, Max is actively engaged in his own teaching certification. One of his goals is to introduce more men into the discipline.
The Luma teaching style is fundamentally rooted in Classical Pilates, but don't be surprised if we mix it up with something more Contemporary from time to time. Our collective goal is promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and is at the very heart of everything we do. It influences our approach to every class, workshop, and community event we host.
Lucia and Max believe that fitness is more than just physical exercise; it encompasses mental, emotional, and social aspects that contribute to overall wellness. And they’d like to that share with you.
