In a nutshell

Neither option is objectively better. The right choice depends on how regularly you plan to come, how predictable your schedule is, and how much you want to commit upfront. This guide walks through both with actual numbers, so you can make the decision that makes sense for where you are right now.

Start here: the introductory offer

If you haven't been to Luma before, neither a Class Pack nor a Subscription is the right starting point. Our introductory offer gives you 3 Reformer/Tower classes for £48, which works out at £16 per class, The lowest rate we offer. For Mat, Barre or Yoga, the introductory offer is 3 classes for £30.

Three sessions is enough to move past the unfamiliar, understand what the practice genuinely does, and make an informed decision about how you want to continue. Most people who make it to their third class have a clear sense of whether this is something they want in their week . That's the moment to choose between a Class Pack and a Subscription.

What Class Packs cost

Class Pack credits are bought in one payment and used whenever suits you, with no recurring charge and no monthly commitment.

Pack Per class Total
1 class £30 £30
5 classes £28 £140
10 classes £26 £260
20 classes £24 £480
Pack Per class Total
1 class £20 £20
5 classes £18 £90
10 classes £16 £160

The per-class rate drops as the pack size increases, but the full amount is paid upfront. Credits have a validity window. Please check the Membership Legal Notice or our Prices page for full expiry terms.

What subscriptions cost

Subscriptions are available on either a three-month or twelve-month commitment. The longer the commitment, the lower the per-class rate. Subscriptions include priority booking access. Unused monthly classes do not roll over.

How the numbers stack up

Option Per class Per year
10-class Pack £26 £1,248
3-month Subscription £25 £1,200
12-month Subscription £24 £1,152
Option Per class Per year
20-class Pack £24 £2,304
3-month Subscription £21 £2,016
12-month Subscription £20 £1,920

At 8 classes per month, the 12-month Subscription saves £384 per year against the Class Pack rate. That's effectively more than two months of classes at no extra cost.

The break-even point, where a Subscription starts saving money compared to a Class Pack, sits at around four to six classes per month depending on which pack size you’re comparing against.

Which one is right for you

The honest answer is that most people who are unsure are better off starting with a Class Pack and moving to a Subscription once their practice has found its rhythm.

A Class Pack makes sense if your schedule is genuinely unpredictable. If you travel regularly, work shifts, have childcare commitments, or simply are not sure yet how often you will come, a Class Pack keeps your practice in your life without any pressure. You can always move to a Subscription when the time feels right.

A 3-month Subscription makes sense if you have been coming regularly and want to lock in a better rate without committing to a full year. It is a good middle ground: meaningful savings, a defined commitment, and a natural review point at the end of three months.

A 12-month Subscription makes sense if Luma is already part of your week and you want the best available rate. The saving over twelve months is significant, and the psychological effect of a committed membership is genuinely underrated. When the cost is already covered, you show up. Consistency is where the results live.

A note on switching

You can move from a Class Pack to a Subscription at any time. Any unused credits remaining when you subscribe carry over and can still be used up to their expiry date. You cannot pause a Subscription mid-term, and cancellation terms vary by plan. Full details are in the Membership Legal Notice.
